We’re rapidly losing the greatest allure of the greater Wilderness area: our natural beauty and biodiversity. This uniqueness draws both residents and tourists alike. The loss of biodiversity occurs through “a thousand little cuts” due to outdated bylaws or insufficiently enforced regulations.
Furthermore, local communities are significantly underserved by the municipality, yet they hold great potential to thrive with more attention, care, and support from all residents of the region.
While much of the environmental damage is irreversible, efforts are underway to restore damaged ecosystems and prevent further harm. Savewild exists to engage residents of the greater Wilderness area in protecting its natural spaces and assisting its local communities for a thriving Wilderness.
“Life contracts and expands in proportion to our courage.”
